The owner of my deerlease leased a piece of property to a man for cattle, he leased it for hunting, then that person leased it out for hunting. I was told by the owner that i could lease that piece of property if i wanted to cause the lease was up in march for the guy with the cattle. I told him i would take it. The owner advised the guys that was hunting there to get their stuff off the lease. Myself and the land owner told them 6 times to get their stuff since march. I went to the lease yesterday and there is a camper, 4 box blinds, 4 feeders, 2 treestands, and they trashed the place. What should i do.

Sounds like the owner has a problem. Stay out of it.

Good Hunting,
Gary

I had the same problem, I showed the lease agreement to the local warden and was told If I wanted the stuff, I was under no legal requirement to allow the past owners to get it. It was mine according to him. He also said that if they came on the property to get it with out my approval, they could be charged with trespassing and theft.

Ya they agreed to get their stuff but they never went to get it. Their lease was up so he didnt lease it to them again. Im starting to put my stuff on the lease. I dont think i should waste my time to move all their stuff, if they cant take one or two days out of 3 months to get their stuff.

Make sure you have a contract with the owner or there could be problems.

Make sure the place is secure now that you are puting your stuff out there. I have seen people come in to get thier stuff just before the season starts and take what belongs to them and some stuff that didnt belong to them as well. Even being secure may not stop them though. Had a guy drive through a gate with his truck to get his feeder one time......and he took my brothers feeder as well for his troubles.

Ya me and the lease owner are good friends. I do still get a lease agreement. I have put up trespassing signs and changed the locks and advised the gamewarden. Im not trying to be a butt, but they cant use our lease for storage or whatever they are using it for.

I'd probably express my displeasure to the land owner and just let him deal with it.

Move it to the front gate.
May be a pain in the end, but at least if they come back its ready for them.
They may not trash your blinds and feeders.
Send them a certified letter stating its there near the gate and they have 14 days to remove it. Stare if it is not retrieved it will be considered trash and thrown away.
Take a pic of the stuff and enclose it in the letter.
After 14 days, trash it or keep it.
