Friday, grandson and I headed to Central Texas and had the pleasure to hunt at Dustin08 place, in an attempt to get the grandson his first ram and with a bow. After arriving Dustin took us on a tour of his place and found some rams in an open pasture, of course the grandson had to try to put a stalk on one, but wasn't able get within bow range. So we continued on the tour and it wasn't long and he had his first copperhead.


Continuing on, he found a couple piglets roaming around, he put a stalk on them and missed with him bow.

We went and looked at some of Dustin's future axis’s, fallow and blackbuck’s, Dustin is starting a nice herd for himself.

The next morning a game plan was made in which we would be hunting from a ground blind. The rest is history, grandson made a good shot on a Black Hawaiian at about 15 yards , the shot was in a little far forward, but that is when a good broadhead come into play, getting enough penetration to get into some vitals.


Now, Dustin’s work really just started. While the grandson and I went and did so more hog hunting and then did some bass fishing in one of the tanks, Dustin came up with this, camo’ed euro, he really did out do himself on this one.


Just wanted to thanks Dustin again for making another hunt a memorable one for the grandson and I. Just want to let you know Dustin, the grandson is already talking about putting an arrow in that big fallow buck.

Gilbert and his grandson have a good relationship Gilbert is lucky to have a hunting partner like his grandson. He has the hunting fever he is going to become one heck of a hunter.
