Hunts couldnt be sold before.
This allows someone to charge for hunting out of the chopper.

Is Dillon taking any private flights???
the thing about baiting is, even a rookie hunter could have a 170 bird season if they bait holes

Eeee haa! Doors open, tree top level, opening up with "the pig" on some... well, hogs on the ground! I'd pay big dollars to do that...

A friend owns a Huey but fuel a lone would make it a expensive hunt.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.

This is awesome. I was concerned it wouldn't make it through the Senate. I think that is where a similar bill died last time?

I have hunted hogs out of a helicopter one time and was one of the most exciting hunts I have ever been on. I am looking forward to going again, the guy that took me keeps his helicopter in a big barn at my deer lease so he will take me just about anytime. I have also done a few deer surveys with him, those are pretty neat as well. I would say if you get the chance jump on it.

heres some fuel numbers for you:
a bell 204, civilian version of the veitnam huey burns 70 gallons an hour, and can hold 10 people including the pilots.
for this example the choppa will be loaded down w/ 10 people 2 pilots 8 shooters (4 shoot at a time two each side).
the current price for JET-A (chopper fuel) is $127 a barrel for a two hour long flight we need atleast 140 gallons of fuel. thats 3.3333 barrels of oil or $423.33 dollars worth of fuel for a two hour flight, which comes out to $52.91 per shooter for fuel alone.
a quick google search shows 1000 rnds of PMC bronze .223 sold for 329.99 and wolf steel for $208.12
so if all you had to pay for was fuel and 1000 rnds of ammo the cost would be $261.03 (wolf ammo) or $382.90 (PMC ammo). however this america, people love money so you mine aswell double the price to resemble the actual cost.
she said ,why does that ammo have pretty green tips on it? the guy said its the eco-friendy ammo.

300 dollars sounds cheap, but you also have to remember that the helicopter is not free someone has to pay the up keep and pay to have it fixed. I have no clue what a helicopter mechanic would charge but I bet it is not free. Then you have to add in the mileage it cost to get the helicopter to where ever you are wanting to hunt, if it only cost 250 I would do it every weekend but I bet 250 won't even get you an hour of air time.

A smaller robinson r44 usually cost $750-$1000 per hour to operate.

Any day hunt would close in on $5,000 easy.... did one w/ Ted Nugent last month just north of Abilene..... 156 hogs started at first light and ended around 4pm with a 2 hour lunch..... that was Ted and the pilot......
The prices will be out of the range for the average hunter if the business hopes to make a profit.

I looked into this fairly seriously. The killer that really put things out of reach financially was the cost of insurance. I could not even find a company that would insure for liability on a commercial operation. The only tentative quote that I got was $40,000-$50,000 a month... But they said that even at that it may not go through underwriting. This was a while back before it became legal as I was trying to have everything in place if the bill passed.
You have to be running a lot of hunts and turning a serious profit to pay just your insurance bill.... let alone fuel, pilot, chopper maintenance etc etc etc.
Believer is on track for what I figured I would have to charge with a 2 person minimum.
I have two little girls; which means if GI Joe ever got to take a vacation he should come to my house...Ahhh, Estrogen Land! Where lonely barbies abound without a single man in site.
