I have received 5.05 inches of rain in the past 8 days here at the ranch. Sunflowers have perked up and are looking good. Hopefully it will continue and we'll have a good dove season. I had 9" of snow the first of Feb and it took over a week to melt, so it soaked in pretty good. We sure needed the rain but we weren't in as bad shape as other around the state as far as spring growth.

Yes, it is some good rain, but I would rather have it come this fall and flood new veggies...

High water will kill vegetation and then in the fall there is no food for the ducks to eat...

Just sayin'... smile

This is true, but we are already 6 inches below our yearly average in most of North Texas, this stuff is just making up for already being behind the 8 ball. Those lakes need water and they need it bad.

I think Stompy was referring to Dove hunting, but on the waterfowl for me it really does not matter. Flood or Drought it just changes where and how I hunt is all.

We've had 5-1/2" here at home in less than 24 hours. Would like to have spread that out over 24 days instead. frown

That won't even get your feet muddy headed to the farm to water trees
