Saw one Monday afternoon. She had a pretty good beard on her. Not as rare as some think. I see several each year.

I need to get a good bird, have had horrible luck these past few seasons.

Check out my non-commercial bear hunting website; Bear-Hunting.Org! Which educates hunters on both bear hunting and hunting safety.

I saw one too. I had a shot at one and I texted my Dad to ask if they were legal. He said he thought they were but I decided to not risk it. I think he was just hungry lol. Are they legal though anyone know?

I've seen several this spring as well. Saw one with a 6-8" beard. I was told they are legal in the spring in OK, but I never confirmed.

TPWD Finalizes Hunting and Fishing Regulations for 2011-12
AUSTIN – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission adopted hunting and fishing regulations for 2011-12 with relatively few changes. All amendments take effect Sept. 1, 2011.

Beginning in 2012, hunters may harvest any bearded Rio Grande turkey during the spring season in all counties having a bag limit of four turkeys.
