Well, I hunted near Dryden this past year for Muleys. The neighboring rancher had pics of a bear at the well drinking water and then pics at his feeder the next day.

We have a ranch in Sanderson (11 mi. south) A buddy of ours has a ranch south of us that has bears on it. My old man says you'd be better off shooting a man than a black bear in Tx.

I have hunted between Sheffield and Dryden for 35 years and never seen or heard of a bear in the Big Canyon, but I guess they could be around. Interesting

There's been bears in that country for a long time. We hunted out near Bakersfield back in the 80's and there were sightings even back then.
