Just got a .223 and looking to put a scope on it. Need it to be clear in low light to 200 yards. Like it to be also illuminated like a dot or cross hairs. $300 or less? Is there a web site that does good and bad comparisons.

Bout your only option I know of that would be about perfect is SWFA just put their illuminated burris scopes on clearance. I picked up a 3.5-10x50mm for $250 and so far have been very pleased.

If your looking for info on scopes rather than where to buy scopes, this might be of help, http://www.opticstalk.com/ Its part of SWFA but has some really good info.

There are several good quality scopes for the 223 in that price range. What magnification are you wanting nto go with ?

I like my 3x9x40 Redfields on my other guns so I thought something like that or 3x9x50. I like the wide field of vision that I get with the 3x. Main thing is I will be varmit hunting so it will be low light so it needs to gather as much light as possible. I would like it to illuminated with dot or cross hairs.

Check out the illuminated reticle burris FFIIs, I put it on my AR for varmints/pigs and that appears to be what you are looking to do as well.

Mine isn't too bright at all but just perfect for the low light hours.

With it being almost half off it should do exactly what you want and more.

Mueller gets good write ups for lower recoil rifles. Think they have one called the APV or some such with illuminated reticule.
