I have an old and obsolete compound bow and I've been thinking of getting a newer one. I have a short draw (about 26"), and a small wallet, so I guess I'm probably gonna have to settle for a "youth bow". I've been eyeballing the Browning Micro Adrenaline. I want to target shoot in my yard and maybe try some 3D and/or bowhunting when I get good at it. Any suggestions? Is the micro adrenaline any good? I'm not to the serious-buyer stage yet...just looking at options. Wish me luck

It has been my experience that most anything made or backed by Browning is a quality product. The only problem with a youth bow is I do not believe you can adjust the strength of the bow high enough to be effective on big game at a decent range. Go to an archery shop close to you and talk to them. You might even find a good used bow that someone turned in for trade. Let them fit you and help tune. You will find that it is time and money (if they charge you) well spent!!

Check out Bear bows that are backed by primos. All of there bows can be set up to your draw and there is one for every pocket book depth. I don't shoot one but my next bow may be one due to price tag shock from other companys.

Parker has some decent bows at affordable prices. Go to Cabellas and check out what they have. Any bow maker will be able to fit you. I shoot a Mathews with a 26 1/2" draw length and before that a Darton Viper with the same draw length. The Darton was affordable and deadly, just noisier than I liked, although I killed my PB with it. Bear does make a decent bow a reasonable prices and they can get the cams and string length set up to fit you also. Go to a pro shop and work with someone who knows how to fit you. You may pay a few more dollars for a bow there but you will walk away fitted and ready to shoot.

If you can find a used McPherson Diesel they are great bows for short draw length. When Pearson merged with McPherson the diesel went away.

Are you left handed? I have a LH McPherson Diesel at 26 inches that I might consider selling.
