My son got drawn on one of the youth hunts, but I don't think we can go now due to Football playoffs.

This is the first time I've drawn a GDE; had a couple of antlerless hunts before and completly shut out last year, even on standby. I would appreciate any info, tips, whatever on this area. Which compartments did you like? Where is a good place to stay? Campgrounds or motels? There doesn't seem to be much on the internet.

My 13 yr old got one of the 4 spots at South Llano SP!!!! We sure weren't expecting it. In fact I had forgotten that I entered any of them this year.
I called last night to find out the good news. The recording showed me losing archery mule deer but said the other categories had yet to draw

They have yet to draw mule deer and management hunts but we struck out on GDA and GDE at colorado bend, been putting for a decade there and have yet to draw a rifle hunt. After 10 years of entry fees thinking I should have saved my money.

But i do fish at Colorado Bend SP and surrounding parks every spring, and i have seen more deer in that area than most other places in Texas i have ever been to. Edit: As far as campgrounds go, the camping at Colorado Bend State Park is more than adequate. They have full hookups if thats what you need. And the view is spectacular.

One would think that they would the system where you could log in and see your results, instead of dealing with the phone. That is being worked on so that it will be more user-friendly in the future along with entering online with payment.
