My son has a black mouth cur pup that is seven months old. He wants to train him as a squirel dog. Do ya'll have any advice on how to get him started.

This is the easiest of all…. You do need fresh squirrel pelt…. Get the dog interested in the pelt, let him become familiar with it, take the dog out of sight; drag the pelt on a string (to avoid scent confusion), around trees, grass, stumps, and at the end of every find, plant a treat. I reward my dog with every find... Careful not to over treat him. He will become lazy. Gradually increase the distance and eventually hang from tree limbs, its really easy,
