Ate there for lunch today and had the brisket and jalepeno sausage, with slaw for a side. A freind of mine had the 2" thick pork chop. I thought it was real good overall. I compared it to the Hard 8, and the brisket is way better, but the Hard 8's sausage is better IMO. Also the sides at the Hard 8 get my vote. Im ready to go back and try some other items.

Is this the same Coopers BBQ that is in the Hill Country? Llano, Mason, Junction Ect. I can't speak for the one in FT. Worth but I am a big fan of the one in Mason.

We always go to the one in Llano when we hunt. I will have to go try the ft worth one now. Good excuse for a long lunch break.

Yeah I did some research last night and answered my own question. How long has it been there? My wife and I were having a friendly debate over that. LOL. Can't wait to try it, grew up around Mason, don't get down there often and sure do miss it!

I wasn't that impressed. Got jalapeno sausage and pork ribs. Both were tough and dry. Folks I ate with said the brisket was, too. Chopped beef looked like it was run through a blender. I put it behind Angelo's, Railhead, and the Smoke Pit, quality and $$.

Ate there today and was GREAT! I grew in llano so its good to have a place so close to home.
One thing missing was the smoke pouring out to the parking lot.

I ate there a couple of weeks ago and mine was great as well. I will be going back. I agree with the smoke comment. Does not have the feel of the Llano location.
Well.... uhhh

My wife and I ate there last weekend and thought it was very good. She had the brisket and i had the pork chop and both were good.

Just ate at Coopers about 30 minutes ago. I had brisket and sausage. Brisket wasn't very good. The best part about the dinner was the cobler and sweet tea. I think theres better bbq in fort worth

OK, hold on... The one in Ft. Worth is the same folks as in Llano. But the ones in Mason, Junction, etc. are not the same. There was a split and there is a difference in the BBQ fo sho.
A friend of mine from high school and now an extended family member built the new one in Ft. Worth. They had heII with licensing and permits to get the place open.
The Hard Eight chain opened many years after Cooper's and IMHO, though they offer a different sauce and meats to a certain extent, they copied the concept. Some folks in the D/FW area that weren't aware of Cooper's have no idea of the history..
They expect that the percentage of beer vs food will be much higher in Ft. Worth.

Don't about the Junction one, but I thought the Mason and Llano were owned by the same folks. All I know is the Mason Cooper's is much better and much more consistent than the Llano version. The Junction version really sucks (they use a heat lamp to keep their BBQ warm!!!). The Hard Eight chain opened many years after Cooper's and IMHO, though they offer a different sauce and meats to a certain extent, they copied the concept. They expect that the percentage of beer vs food will be much higher in Ft. Worth. Hard Eight in Brady and Stephenville is so-so. Their sauce is absolutely horrible, and ruins the BBQ in my opinion. The Stephenville location gets extra thumbs up for serving free beer though.

My daughter and I ate there Tuesday. I was not prepared for the style- you order meat, by the pound, then make your own sandwich. I thought the brisket was dry, but I got "lean", not "marbled". The jalepeno sausage and cobler were good. My daughter saw a couple of friends there. One thought it was so - so, the other said it was his new favorite place. Railhead in Willow Park will still get my business, although their service and consistency don't match Montgomery Street.
My BIL agrees with your Mason vs. Junction assessment, but I had never eaten at a Coopers. The Butcher paper plate reminded me of Joe Cotton's in Bishop, my father-in-law's favorite BBQ place.
