Just curious to get some opinions on a question... I have had dealings with several people on the forum that will ship long guns to FFL's only. They are willing to do a FTF but I'm am not in their area so shipping is the only way to work it out. I'm not complaining. Just curious as to why someone would ship only to an FFL if they were going to do a face to face anyhow? I only ask b/c the FFL thing adds another $25 bucks to the deal. Just looking for the reasoning behind the move.

Some people just don't feel comfortable shipping guns to individuals addresses. I personally dont have a problem with it and see that as a priviledge of living in Texas...

I don't have a problem shipping long guns to someone, or having them shipped to me. But there are a lot of things that a better done face to face so I completely understand it... and the law does say that an idividual may sell to another texas resident as long as the seller has no reason to believe that the buyer isn't Prohibitted from legally purchasing or owning a firearm. So I guess meeting someone ftf is a good way to "size" the person up to.

I think it is more a matter of people not knowing they can ship directly to the person.

I will ship. It is legal thru the U.S. postal service, so I see no reason not to.

If I remember correctly its inside the sate longguns yes house to house, outside stats house to FFL.
Pistols ffl to ffl no matter what.
or face to face. I have done FTF on all guns except the rifle my uncle sent me from Ohio, sent it to a ffl. Now my closest FFL to me would not accept it from my uncle so he had to send from his FFL, who said he would not send it out of state. So whatever is whatever and so be it...
I have the gun now and appreciate my friend Bill for helping it get to me.

Many shippers won't ship guns unless the receiver has a FFL or is a gunsmith.
coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.
