They are ok, I've seen quite a few coon hunters use them. I still use a belt light, 21volts really bright, and has the ability to support a spot light if you need it. ( I don't but some people still want one available) If your in the market for a light I would check out the following websites.

(I have this one and love it, plus Jeff is a real good guy)

http://www.moonshinerlights.com/

and a bunch of others here

Best of luck man.

btw, I personally don't care for the predator light. jmo.

My wife got me a Wilson Tactical Hog and Predator light. -- Small, light weight and quick to attach and take off. Very bright led. Love it!
http://www.wilsoncombat.com/h_hog2.asp

Also have a Primos light that I use when I do not expectto be walking too far -- has the red lens -- Only thing i do not like is I have flip up lens caps and have to take the front off to use this light, not so with the Wilson mounted on the side of the scope.

Can't say that I am greatly experienced at night hunting coyotes -- so don't consider my opinion as proffesional.

I have tried a bunch of lights and have one of the WC lights as mentioned above

with a decent scope 100 yard + shots are no problem

for hogs, start low and slowly bring up to the hogs

I have hunted with Bill and am on the WC Pro staff

Now, of course, the ultimate is Gen 3 Nightvision!

I want it badly
