We hunted a small place in Hopkins Cnty this year with some success. Just wondering if anyone else did and if you were successful. I was a little impressed with the # of deer, absolutely covered up in hogs.

There's a good buddy of mine "Hoytman" that has land in Hopkins County. I don't wanna speak for him but I bet he would have a thing or 2 to say to you about the decline of deer he has seen on his place there in the past few years and what might be the cause of it. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin', right Hoytman?

I hunt in Franklin and Hopkins counties. The place in Hopkins county is small and is owned by a friend, but there's always a ton of deer moving there and there's been some great bucks seen there. The only one killed there this year was a broken up 8 about 17" wide. My friend took his kids there some and I only hunted there a couple of times because I was seeing some good bucks and a ton of deer on my place in Franklin County. But the best thing about his place in Hopkins Co. is that nobody hunts around there, so we've been letting everything walk. Should be really good in the years to come. I know my place in Franklin Co. is getting better every year!

Sometimes I wonder if it will get to the point you bring an attorney with you out hunting.

The place we hunt has very little wood on it, just on the creek. There seems to be a lot of deer moving through, not sure there are many resident deer. In bow season I had a group of 7 does come in on me. Thats as many as I have seen out West in a group. Needless to say the group left one behind. For a place that is 45 minutes from the house, its hard to beat. It is also covered up in bobcats. The best part is thanks to my buddies family its free!

i have property in the county as well and this year was somewhat slow. had several does, but only saw 2-3 bucks that did not meet the AR restrictions. plenty of hogs though and just finished building an AR for them-can't wait to get sighted in.

I have been in Leonard for 8 yrs. Maybe I exaggerated a bit, but its less than an hour. Sure seems close. This is one of my buddies family's land that we hunted on. You still keep an eye out for me!

I saw more deer this year than the last 5. Many does and a few bucks. Not to say I was over run with them. Did get my first ever deer day after Christmas. A nice 8pt that I didn't shoot twice before because of uncertainty of the size. Turned out to be 14.5 in.
