I can't usually do it,

but last night's weather in Big D allowed me to weasel my way into working from home and I just decided I'd get a late start on the working part.

So I did a quick hunt, my 10th solo of the year. Here is a pic:

^ ah, hell, next time I'll shoot one. Instead of "at one." Only love I got was a GWT hen about 15 minutes after legal, right in the spread. Stand up, wait, cuz I decide I want to shoot it in the air, all fancy-like, but then something odd happened. A 15 yard shot with no extenuating circumstances and yet I miss. Well there was one thing. Just like shootin clays at the range in late fall. Sun still up: ok. Up until sunset: Ok. After dark and when the lights are on: Ok. Between sunset and pure dark: can't see a darn thing. Yeah, the teal and the shore opposite me sort of blended together at an unfortunate time. Everybody needs an excuse, right?

It must have snowed a lot over there. Ha Ha. It's ok. I missed a pin last year at less than 15 feet. It happens to the best of us.

Amen! You'll get plenty of practice on the flying birds. Take the easy one in the decoys, you've tricked em, you deserve it.

I like that way of thinking.

That's a little bit of Arkansas logic for ya. Plus if you let them all hit the water first, they take off slower. I've killed 4-5 birds per group, personally, on several occasions. Can't wait to get a full limit in 3 shots. That's my goal.
