I'm wondering what everyone has found to be the best combo for taking decoying ducks. What choke tubes is everyone using with remington HD or hevi-shot. I shoot a Winchester SX2 most of the time w/a modified invector choke tube. I tried some HD this past weekend and had a tough time with the close ups ducks, but when they got out a little no problem. I'm going to Arkansas in a few weeks and was really impressed w/no cripples from the HD loads.

Why spend the money on HD loads for decoying birds? Seems like a major waste of money. As for chokes...you really need to just pattern them and see what it looks like at the distance you are shooting.

I agree on testing your choke/pattern. Some ammo will react differently than others, and the only way to know what is the best is to pattern it.
I shoot modified factory Benelli choke. After going through pattern tests with that and Remington, Black Cloud, and Kent I could tell a noticeable difference.
