This is the last weekend for me to go hunting in kerr county so if anyone has any suggestions for me let em rip. I could use any help, i've hunted at least six 4 day weekends this season and yet to see a mature buck. Hunted all situations, all weather and used every peice on knowledge I have to get my buck tag filled and this is my last shot. I will be using my tags for the hunters for homeless if I don't see worth taking for myself. Should I bother with rattling or scents? Thanks and happy holidays to you and your family!

Probably the best thing I could recommend for you to increase your chances, and trying to beat the clock, is to pack some snacks and drinks and sit all day!

It's tough, but late season and colder weather the bucks and deer will move all day.

Give it a try, you just may score!

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I vote for all day as well, your best chances are when you are on stand...

or take some guys with you and set up a drive...just beat the brush and run them out...

Definately put in full days. If possible try some stalk walking if you can hunt an area away from your feeder set up. I have taken a buck at 1:00 pm while walking thru the woods.

Well I had a BLAST! I didn't get my big buck but I did take a super slick 8 3/4 inch spike....had him aged at 2 1/2 years. He came out with another 4 pt and a big 8. I wanted to see the eight grow another year so I let him pass. Lots of does but the best part was I head shot him at about 100 yards behind a bush with ONLY his head poking out of it! The day I don't jump out of the stand shouting and whooping about such a great shot is the day I will stop hunting. Took and donated him to the H.F.H. I did walk and stalk right up on a two year old rather large axis buck. That was fun. My gf and I also walked and stalked a 4 pt that we thought was another spike, I was going to let her shoot her first but after following him at about 300 yards for an hour, he finally showed me his little "brow tines" lol so we had to let him pass. I decided to go ahead and take my big buck next year at my friends trophy ranch, she is going to let me "have" a few hundred acres for the summer to scout and hunt any deer. It will be like really hunting instead of sitting in a blind and shooting. Happy new year to all!!!
