I shoot a whisker biscuit fairly accurately. I have hunted with one forever. I would like to start shooting 3-d. How much more accuracy will I be able to pick up using a fall-away?

I used a Whisker Biscuit for years and converted to the newer one with softer bristles. I like the the way it holds it in place without falling, nothing better. But I would still get fliers and damaged fletchings. I switched to a drop-away that had a system to hold the arrow in place and really like it. QAD is the brand, here is there website. I got an upper end one Camo on Ebay much cheaper and new. http://www.qadinc.com/c-5-.aspx

I bought 2 bows this year... a Bear Instinct with a wisker biscuit and just got a Mathews Reezen and had a drop away put on it... I feel I shoot much better with the drop away... I am no pro, I just like the drop away better....I know the Bear bow is not even close to the quality of the Mathews, so that me have a little to do with it.

Only you can decide.
I prefer the Black and Gold Inertia Drop Away.

Always used a fall away, I am very pleased with the acuracy I get with it. Man, I must be really old or you're young or new to the sport. I remember starting w/ a cushion button and a stick on riser rest. I then went to a launch for comp and stuck w/ that for quite awhile. Once signing on w/ Martin Archery I got a new bow and then changed a few other things then also. I went w/ a TM Hunter and used it on that bow till I sold it a couple years ago. My other bow that I bought as a staff shooter had another TM Hunter on it. 3yrs ago when I went back to carbon arrows (yes I tried them and they weren't as good as the ones are now days), I then changed to an inertia drop away. I remember the Whisker Biscuit being introduced when I shot comp back in the mid '90s. We never thought it would last as long as it has. My son's new compound came w/ one and it is easy to set-up, but I'm still leary about the wear and vane contact. So far it is working for him. The drop away's started coming out shortly after that around the late '90s. I was VERY sceptical of them then and am still w/ the ones w/ strings and arms. Man I can't get use to that many moving parts. I know the less you have the less likely it will break or misalign w/ extended use. I guees I'm a little old fashion when it comes to archery, but it worked then and I'm a VERY stubborn person when it comes to CHANGE.

I would think the fall away should incrase your FPS as oppossed to the biscuit dragging against your arrow and fletching. I switched from a two prong holder to the fall away. Prolly only 5 FPS max difference but still. Heck putting wax on string will slow it down round 3 FPS. If you add up everything we put on our bows, that 310 FPS in perfect operating condition (Which means BARE)we are all prolly shooting 40 FPS from the advertised speeds. That is only if speed matters to you. But I am no expert.
Brought to you by the Head Member of the Bowtech pro staff,
or maybe not, but I have driven past a Holliday Inn Express once so that should count for something.

I started with the plunger prong type, went to a bodoodle then a trophy rdge drop zone and now a QAD. The QAD is the best for now. It has full containment. Whats funny is we have tuned bows for no fletching contact as long as I can remember, but the whisker biscuit comes out which contradicts all that.

I was shooting a 2 prong fixed rest and changed to a fall away. 25 yard shots went from 3" grouping to almost on top of each other.

I switched from a bisquit to a QAD ultra rest and I can't tell a difference. I shoot a DXT with GT Pro Hunters. The exact same thing here. I couldn't tell a difference in shooting my WB or my QAD. I have a QAD on my Iron Mace and my Mathews Monster. They are a pain in the butt to tune with speed bows!!!!!! But once they're tuned in, you're good to go. Both my bows shoot well over 300 fps, and that can be an issue while tuning.

Ive tuned bows with fall away rest and whisker bisquits and either one will tune. Its prefference! If you shoot more confident with the wb then use it. Or try a fallway if you dont like it put the wb back on. As far as speed very little if any gain by switching. And accuracy well thats up to the archer...lol Good Luck with this!

One of my biggest reasons for getting rid of the wb, was the fletching problems. I was tired of shooting a few shots and then having to refletch, wait on glue to set ect. With 2 bows and a wb or hostage it was an ongoing problem. The price also made me switch, glue, vanes ect arn't cheap. I was out more money that way then going with a Limb Driver. Just a prefernce I guess, but I hated to refletch all the time.
