Anybody else hunt in Lampasas?

We have seen deer all season up until I guess last weekend. In the past 2 weekends we havent seen hardly anything and what we have seen have been this years fawns. I talked to 2 different people in town that described almost the exact same thing on their place. What the heck is goin on ! ? There not even showin up on camera hardly now! Anybody else havin the same luck around there?

just came back,1 doe and spike,when i left the stand seen around 17 in a group with a couple shooter bucks.hunt outside of kempner

i dont think your the only one experiencing this, i have talked to lots of people in that area that are having trouble. i did have a lease in that area but it got to expensive for me. mine was on 581 in between 281 and 1047

hunted lampasas about 7yrs ago and that was the norm the 2years that i was on the lease. i would see on average 10-15 deer morning and evening...as the season went out the deer would thin out to only seeing a couple if any

We have had this lease for about 22 years and this is def. a first for us. Thats why I was wondering if anybody else was in the same boat

we have had out place on river road outside lampasas for 15 years and we seem to go through it every year we will go for a few weeks out of the season

I hunt in NW Burnet county on the river and in normal years it happens. This year has been different. Mature bucks are in hiding, nocturnal, and when seen they are at a distance normally. I did see a big one at a feeder at 4:30 2 weekends ago. SInce the hard freezes we are seeing more activity. Prior to the freezes the deer did not have to move at all.
