Were tossing around selling some doe hunts on our place. What is a reasonable amount to charge? If we were to guarantee a shot/kill.

It's "worth" whatever you want to pay for it. However, $100 is fair.

I also believe $100 is a fair price and I would be interested in a couple .

It's not what it's worth to the seller, it's what it's worth to the buyer. The buyer is in reality the one that controls the market.

some fo the cheaper doe hunts come without lodging, if you look a little closer. That in itself will sometimes make it more expensive

I wouldn't pay too much. I thought the guy with the "$100 for all that you have tags for" was right up my alley. I wish he were closer.

Ok I should not say this since I was looking for opinnions. But some of you folks are out of your minds. For someone to think that folks would let strangers on there place and not even get a hundred dollars. That is nuts. You folks need to get a clue as to how expensive it is to harvest a mature buck. I had thought a hundred was fair enough. But after this I have decided it would not be worth the trouble of dealing with that level of hunters. Im sorry if thats rude.....IMO..... Thanks for the responses otherwise.

2 guys post sub $100 prices and probably joking and you come back with that? One lives in Houston so give them a break. He pays for big bucks as well if you look at his pictures. Why the response like that? What does an internet forum have to do with the type of hunters you allow to hunt on your land? Pick your price and offer some hunts. Think you'll enjoy whoever comes and hunts.

weren't talking about mature bucks, not real sure where that came from.... but it is expensive to provide for an entire herd, you'll always be putting more money in that you get out of it to get those bucks on a regular basis....unless you are really lucky.
another option I see on occassion are father/son hunts (with son being < 16-18)... $200 for dad's deer, son's gets discounted 1/2 price.

If you need them killed to manage your herd, you charge a nominal fee for them and get it done quick and hopefully painlessly. If you are trying to recoup costs for growing "a mature buck" then advertise it for what you want and although the takers may be fewer and further between you may eventually get both goals accomplished. Just remember most folks are shooting does for meat. At $100 a doe by the time it is cut up they will get 18 to 25 pounds of meat. If they have it processed and that costs $60 you are looking at $7+/pound. I think that is probably a little conservative.
On the other hand you are shooting trophy bucks for the bragging rights or personal satisfaction which is hard to put a price tag on.
Not to mention a tough economy.
