We are experiencing the same thing on our lease in Erath county. We had several good bucks in velvet in the summer months as well as doe and hogs. But when season started suddenly nothing was coming around. We aren't seeing anything and not getting any pictures either. It has us all puzzled.

I am in the very northwest corner of Erath and in 3 full weekends of hunting I have only seen 2 legal bucks! I have seen a few does and smaller bucks, but last year by this time I would have seen a dozen legal bucks or more. I have seen a few more hogs this year, and took one a couple of weeks ago. But now I am kicking myself for passing on the first legal buck I passed on!! I am heading back down to the lease at noon on Friday to give it another try. They will be back as soon as they need the food plots we have planted. At least that is what I am hoping!!

The strange part to me is I hunt two places in central Erath county. On has had a lot of deer activity this season but the other (the lease) is horrible. I have hunted out there 7-10 times this year and have yet to see a deer (buck or doe). Then I turn right around and drive 7 miles away hunt and see all sorts of deer. Like is said in my previous post we were getting pictures all summer then suddenly nothing.

I am on a lease with three other hunters 10 miles NW of Strawn. We have some nightime pictures of a few deer and hogs, but no one has fired a shot yet. So far, this is the worst season in six years.
