I wanted a little variety in my spread but was low on cash. Cappy's decoy paint jobs inspired me to add a little variety with paint, and then I got this idea.

I turned this:

into this:

using this:

Your mileage may vary. I will say I came awfully close to creating a hole in the decoy behind the neck while bending the plastic but I caught it just in time. If you try it, let me warn you about something I already knew from patching kayaks with plastic buckets: there is a very, very fine line between the plastic not being hot enough and then it suddenly caving in on itself.

It worked well but I only did the one as that day I was busy getting decoys rigged for the opener and didn't have time to do any more.

im kinda diggin it. I wouldnt do that to my ghg gears, tho. I may dig around and see if i have any more cheap dekes to play with.

you should try to extend the head out a little, like the neck is stretched out, instead of just curled down.

Yeah I did this to el cheapies. You're right about the neck but if I pulled the head forward, there would need to be more material behind the head to keep from creating a hole in the plastic. Not too easy getting the excess plastic from under the neck back behind it!
