I'm headed out to central Texas. I assume the feeders are the place to be? Watering hole? Any ideas?

If it's snowing and/or wet the woods will be quiet, meaning you can stalk without making as much noise. You'll also be able to see the fresh tracks easier.

I've seen snow/rain work both ways, but more often than not deer seem to move less in either. So, a little slow stalking may work better than sitting.

Flip side, we haven't really seen a full on rut in our area and it should have been happening. That along with the cooler weather may indicate the possibility of movement.

Can't go wrong. A day hunting always beats a day working the honey do list... grin

I hunted in the snow yesterday. They were running everywhere. I didn't hunt a feeder, but did hunt over corn (I had dumped out a few bags along some pipeline right-of-ways through the woods.

Had deer activity all day.

Yeah, I would think with snow and cold weather, the deer will be moving all day long. When it's warm or mild, deer move in the early mornings and late evenings, and bed up during the day to stay cool.

Cold, nasty weather is good for deer hunting.

It is snowing in Menard Co. as I write. 2 inches on the ground and more on the way.
Good luck,
Gary
