I hunt just north of Lake Nocona. Last year the rut happened right around Thanksgiving on our place. I did not get to hunt this Thanksgiving so I was wondering if those of you in the area are seeing rutting activity. I will be in the stand this weekend and was curious if the rut would still be going strong or if I have missed it. Thanks for your help.

Looks like most of it has passed, the bucks I am seeing are not showing signs of intrest, had 5 does come in Saturday mornin, not a buck in sight. They came in 2 of them by thierselves prior to the does coming in. Fixin to head out there in a minute now that there is snow and see what this will do to them.
NRA member and proud of it.

I think they are just getting fired up in Foard County, lots of reports of movement this week... hope they are still running this weekend

If it passed, I dont know how we missed it. My dad shot a nice mature 8 point 11-14-09 that came in to the feeder with 3 other smaller bucks and his tarsal glands werent very dark yet. I really hope that they are rutting this weekend bc I think that is my only chance for getting one of the big bucks we have had on camera. The deer on our place seem to be very nocturnal for some reason.

We're hunting about 4 miles West of Nocona, and have been seeing rut activity for the past 2 weeks. We were watching 2 doe's when a nice 8 pointer came from behind us and made a bee line for them, with his head down to the ground. I had to darn near yell my grunt at him to stop him. After he stopped, she nailed it with her 280.
