Myself, son and grandson hunted the Barron Ranch last week and I can tell you his web site as well as himself are totally false and misrepresented.

Mark Barron the outfitter stated he has food plots, water and ponds, lots of deer and great accomodations on 500 acres. FALSE!!!!!

When we arrived we were shown to a double wide that was filthy, run down with the bed linen and cover filthy. Three of the stands were in an open field in sight of a subdivision, no food plots and no water to include a dry creek. The fourth stand was within 25- 30 yards of a major highway. The stands were falling down and filthy as well. None of the feeders were working and some were out of corn. He promised to bring in rice bran or alfalfa but never happened.

We only saw three deer the entire trip which we killed however they were pulled from the adjoining ranch that had a major food plot where we saw tons of deer but everytime we shot the owner of that ranch was on top of us, which I cannot blame him. At one point my son shot a deer down at dusk and the outfitter would not help us look for it as we needed more light.

The ranch was only 124 acres of field not 500 as stated. The meals served were either cold or unpalatable and we never knew when they were to be served. The skinning rack was a tree in the back with poor lighting and a come a long that did not work for a hanging device. The deer carcus were never removed the three days we were there.

I got scabies from the bed I slept in that showed up on my return home.

We paid $1300.00 for three days of bad hunting conditions and if not for our own knowledge and hunting skills we would not have killed anything. What has happened when he opened the ranch he must have had lots of deer and kept it up and the surrounding area not inhabited with no other ranches fencing or planting or feeding. Most all his pictures are old in 2005 when he opened.

We have contacted the Better Business Bureau. Chamber of Commerce as well as an attorney for fraud and false advertising. I do not recommend this outfittter or his ranch to anyone. Dane

He really only got return hunters from 2005- 2007 and thats about it. The two guys before us only shot one deer over three days. It is really a bad experience and yes it is in Miles, Texas outside of San Angelio. I have hunted all over the world as an old 38 year Army retiree and will tell you this was the worst I have ever seen. Dane

I heard that and it is sad that we have these sort of people out there that are ripping off hunters who have worked so hard to hunt and put meat in the freezer. Thanks and God Bless You and Yours this Christmas Season.
