Has anyone hog hunted with tracking dogs and a pit bull? Or any other combination?

If you haven't, do it, it's great fun. No gun needed, just use a knife.

I went last year and I will probably go again next time my Marine buddy is in town.

So far I've only killed deer with Ford trucks.

yea things can get real dicey with "just a knife" too. Ill stick with gun, a lot quicker. Just dont like the idea of stabbing something that close to my pouches and then possible have to quickly get out of the way with a knife in my hand

if you got good dogs then there is no worry. if the dog has the hog caught, you grab back legs, flip, kneel on the neck and stab. put your foot on the body and there is no reason to have to get out of the way. it's great fun, going this sunday with a buddy of mine!!!

u can do it with a knife just fine, but a gun is a lot quicker, and less messy

We hunt hogs this way down here in Zavala Co. and Gonzales Co. on a regular basis.

If anybody wants to book a hunt call Dan Moody 361-645-4695 he is the outfitter that handles the hog hunts on my ranch. He has some really good dogs and you will have a lot of fun, he is from Gonzales, Louisiana, and you know how them cajuns are up

My wife filmed these out of her stand in Zavala Co. a couple of days ago. If anyone wants to hunt them behind dogs and dispatch them with a knife, call the number in the above post. We got bastante hogs, no problemo.

Dang Bubba, that sounds like some fun. I'm gonna make a Pig Spear.
A cast spear, a shovel handle. I'll need someone to go with dogs.
We got hogs like you wouldn't believe.

Almost all he time we would just catch and tie and no one would even have a knife. Its all about good dogs and catch dogs that hold. They do the work, flippin and tieing is the easy part.

You couldn't have said it any better Billy.

Big Tony, you got a free hog hunt coming.

Big Tony, any time you're ready you call me and I' set it up.

Big Tony has made me about 4 knives that I was damn proud to own. I gave one to my son-in-law and the other two I sold to some of the guys that work for Gonzales Livestock Market. They were damn proud to own them too.

I can hook you up with a management hunt too, ain't no big deal, pm me for the details. I'm glad to hear that you are doing ok now.

Anyone want a hog dog ? I have a rottweiler "pup"(LOL) that will ba amazing IMO in the feild chasing pigs. One good thing about him is that he doesnt bark until its too late, lol. He is just to big for me and I dont trust him around my 4 year old kid. He will be a monster when full grown, lol. I got him in the non-hunting classifieds if you want check the link. If interested ill send pics. If you know anyone could you pass the word Ill have to get rid of him because of the kids.

Tin Head probally be best to sell as a guard dog.Not saying he wouldnt cut the mustard but over heating would be one thing and going through thickets and briars as a big dog wouldnt work.Takes more than a breed to call them hog dogs.

I know ,i got your pm. Whats needed for hogs is more of a throw away dog as you stated they dont live long. I apologize for the mistake. Thanks anyways.

WOW , my buddy GAVE you this dog he paid 700 bucks for , and only wanted to give it a GOOD home and your saying he'd be a good hog dog. wow , guess the dog didn't go to a good home if you'd be willing to put him in danger like that. not offended by hog dogn' at all but he wanted his dog to have a good home not be turned into a killer

Wow , I called your buddy and messaged him a few times and he will not return any phone calls or give any other info. on the dog. Dont know if you took the time to read but I did not know hog dogs would be killed ,THIS IS NOT WHERE HE IS GOING... I figured you would pop up and try to start something. I called him to tell him I would give him back (twice)and he wont even pick up the phone , he would not give me info on the dogs vaccines either and I had to start over and paid to get everything on paper (do you think I paid that money to kill him),so dont even start trying to give me a hard time about it....
If you have anything else to say PM me.
