Probably will start around the 4th of November which is the 2nd full moon in Fall. That would bring the peak (YMMV)around Thanksgiving to the first week of December.

Based on

edit Missed the part about South Texas. Day time temps will impact your area more than up in say Val Verde County. Those temps also tend to have the rut go on most of the nights.

I am in Live Oak County and i back tracked my does and counting back the pregnancy period last year it started on or around the 16th of December. Would have to assume it will be within a few days of that this year one way or the other.

I've seen it early part of the second week in Dec and during Christmas. Just have to play it by ear.

Three rivers is our 1/2 way point from San Antonio. We are in southern Duval County.

I hunt right across the border from Valverde, Kinney County line and this last year our Rut was almost a month earlier than normal it seemed to start the first week of December and was the heaviest about the 13th through 17. I have usually seen the most activity in past years from the first or second week of January. Just have to wait and see.

I'm out of Zapata County and have filled more tags in late December to Early January then any other time of year in my entire life.
