Anybody have one? I think it would be a cool carbine and cheap to shoot, as long as they're reliable.

One of the guys on our lease has an AR in 9mm. Yes, they are fun to shoot, and cheap to shoot. But the main issue with it is reliable feeding. We are constantly fixing a FTF issue. We did shoot a pig with it when driving around the lease one night that just happened to stop right in front of us in the Ranger.

I wanted an AR really bad in 10mm. After talking to several shooters who have them, FTF was a common problem. The one's that fired from the Glock mags seemed to work better. The AR we had shot good and was fun, but the head ache of it not being 100% would bother me. I opted to not do it.

I've been jonesing for one of those for a while now. What would be (arguably) even cooler, though, is a 10mm mp5 with a can.....

Yes! I shot the Kriss Vector rifles in 45 ACP to try them out. They make one also in 10mm I was thinking about. It was alright.

I have one of their 9mm uppers but uses the Colt mags....it has issues with failing to feed properly. I sent it back once and they worked on it and now it's better but still jams about every 4-5 shots.

Spend the money and get a QC10. You will thank me later

Only time I have FTF is when using a 50rd drum

They look fun to shoot but I think I'd just rather spend $500 on ammo for the guns I already have and shoot that. Also the PSA ones don't have last round bolt hold open. A guy I shoot 3 gun with has one of the CMMG ones and those do have last round bolt hold open and it's pretty reliable.

I have a beretta cx 4 storm in 9mm and it is a blast to shoot and I never get any FTF. I put a red dot site and a TLR-1 light on it and use it for a home defense gun and a after dark varmint gun around the house. I got it in a trade and thought I really didn't want it but after getting it I won't ever get rid of it. It's a favorite of the grandkids also.

Honestly, I now kinda wish I had just kept my ugly [censored] Hi-Point Carbine in 9mm and not bought the AR upper. That sucker ran like a top, never a single problem.

I have been wanting a 9mm carbine for a while. The wife loves the CZ Scorpion, and the Sig MCX. Both of those are $900-$1700.

The Hi-Point is usually $199 + the addition of this new bull pup kit that's also $199, that makes for a cheap fun 9mm carbine.

I'm on my second 9mm.
The first one I had used Colt mags and wasn't reliable.

The second one I have uses Glock Mags and is very reliable.
Only 1 FTF after the first round.
Over 500 rounds since then with zero problems.
I'm using ProMag Glock 17 compatible mags that I got on sale for 10.99 each.
It shoots under 2" groups with 115gr FMJs at 50.
8" gongs at 100 is pretty easy too - just aim at top center.
It's seems only a little louder than a 22LR.
It's now my favorite carry around on the 4wheeler gun.
My only complaint is that it doesn't hold the bolt open on last round.
Other than that, it's been a real blast.
Just get the current Glock 9mm compatible stuff from PSA and you should be GTG.

I really like introducing folks to an AR using it.
It functions/feels like an AR because it is.
When shooting, you feel like you are shooting something as it has just enough kick to feel right unlike a 22 conversion.
And yeah, it's a PSA. I bought the complete upper and a blem lower and used stuff I have laying around to complete it.
I did purchase a special 9MM buffer for it.
The buffer is heavier and includes a piece you drop in the back behind the spring to limit bolt back travel - If you don't use one of these, your bolt can travel too far back and cause problems.
The only thing I changed on the upper was the mag release lever.
I removed the plastic one provided and installed an ODIN billet bullet lever and it's much more solid and functions better.
Pardon the CLP oozing out everywhere...LOL!

Cheers,

+1 on the CX4. Mine is similarly set up, runs like a champ and Beretta 92 mags are everywhere.

What does everyone hunt with a 9mm AR? or just use it for fun target shooting?
