Keeps the sun off them a little bit and a place to set my beer. (and if I ever build new runs I'll put them inside the run) I just built a roof over mine. Took some 2x8s for the front, 2x6 for the middle and 2x4s for the back, so there would be pitch, then took some tin and screwed it across them. Turned out pretty nice, now I need to get some kennel shade for the sides to keep the sun out. Can't wait to put mine on a concrete slab though.

Once I get the old houses moved out I think it will look pretty good. Dogs seem to like the change. And with four houses I can have a place for 3 friends to set down their beer.
