My son has sent us multiple pics of him and T Sweat at his fraternity house over the last month. My son even told me that Sweat has been partying a lot lately. He said Sweat was on such a rigorous schedule and was now enjoying all of this free time. By all accounts, he is good guy, but made a really bad decision at a really bad time.

The bad part is that he told the story about how multiple teams wouldn't touch him last year because he had the reputation of partying too much. So in his own words, he said he stopped drinking to show teams how serious he was...... bang

Incredible timing. That would be my luck, two weeks before the draft.

Bad deal hope he can figure it out.

I like the kid, but I would have to pass on him. He was probably a third rounder, but now maybe an Undrafted free agent.

Nah. He will get drafted. I would say 3rd round maybe 4th at latest.

The concern will be.
Was this just a mistake? Or does the guy have a problem we have to deal with for years.

He was (and to all accounts, still is) projected as a 2nd round pick. He will be drafted, but he might slide a round.

Some of y'all must forget what it's like to be a college student (or even mid-20s). I was no saint myself and made plenty of dumb decisions. I can't tell you the number of people I know who at some point in their lives were behind the wheel when they should not have been. Most just never got caught.

Credible source? Never saw/read anything about that. It was actually the opposite- how fast, agile, and quick he was for being 366 pounds. He's still the top nose tackle available in the draft.

Well hell, apparently they car that fled the accident was identified as a Texas linebacker who has since been kicked off the team.

On Wednesday evening, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian released a statement on the situation surrounding Burrell, announcing that he has been suspended indefinitely from the team.

Yes, S’Maje Burrell is kicked off the team (not suspended indefinitely). And the arrest report for Sweat said he had a BAC of .10, not too far above the legal limit of .08. I'm not going to get into moral semantics of whether that's worthy of being arrested, but I would think a good attorney would get this case dismissed unless the DA is really trying to stick it to a public figure.
