This is the drop of a 308Win from a rifle with a scope height of 1.5 inches and sighted in a 100yds, the only time the bullet has the same point of impact is at the muzzle (0 yards) and 150 yards.

Thanks for the numbers. My thinking was based on using MPBR and sighting in at 100 yds about 2.0 inch high. Using MPBR your Maximum mid range height would be around 160 and second zero would also be around 200yds + on a typical hunting caliber. I am not used to sighting in zero at 100 yds and finally woke up. I was in error and did not think about the 100 yd zero and 1.5 height scope. The maximum midrange height would be at 100 yds as FJG stated above. With a very flat shooter and a very high scope mount you could see a maximum mid range hieght occur past the 100 yds. ?? What is the typical scope heights on AR?

Looks to me like it would be at around 60 yards and 100 yards, right? (the bullet being above point of aim in between) The muzzle and 150 yards aren't the same.

I just e-mailed Vortex about this last weekend. 20 MOAs for 800+ yards. I would see if you can squeeze low rings on there. I'm pretty sure that I've mounted them with Warne lows.
I think what usdrscott is trying to say about the Viper PST line is that its an introductory scope to precision shooting. You're getting a scope packed full of features (FFP, turrets, illumination, ect) but the Achilles heal of the optic is the glass clarity. It isn't bad, but that's where it suffers. It's like buying a set of golf clubs at Academy. You've got a full set of irons and a couple hybrids but if you're really playing at a high level, it may be worth your time to go to a shop and get fitted.

Depends on the mounts but usually 2.4 to 2.6 inches above bore.

I am no LR expert (I think, often as not, that is a help in reading some of these threads), but IMO that was exactly what he was saying.
