Any ideas on the age/score of this buck? On a new lease this year and this is one of the better ones we've spotted right now....nothing real huge, but seems to have potential.

He looks like he has reached his potetional to me. I would say that is a very mature buck and should be taken.

Well my guess would be mature 5 1/2! Now it could be a cold west TX morning were he is fluffed up. If you look at his neck/chest area he has loose sagging skin. He also has a slight sway in his back. Even if he is 3 1/2 he is only a 8pt so that choice is up to you! JMHO!

I don't think that he is much over 3 1/2. I think the sway in the back is from the way the feet are positioned in the picture. The hair is awfully fluffy but I just don't think he is that old. He is just an 8 so shoot if it makes your heart go pitter patter.

Hard to say..he's awful fluffed up and his feathers are a bit ruffled, I'll shot the gap and say 4.5

I say let him walk, probably only 3.5 years old. He may never be better than an eight but he could definately be a much bigger eight than he is now. I dont see any loose skin, no saggy belly, no huge brisket or big head, and the sway in his back comes from his head bein all the way up, not being old. JMHO

I think he is much younger than that.

Just my opinion.

Exactly,,,+1.

Hunting is more to me than Antlers on the wall. It's more about the memories you make, and sharing those memories with friends, and family.

Yelp he is the dominate one thats why his ears are back and the 8's forward, thats why he is so fluffed out also. Both are great bucks and will be huge next year.

Love me some big eights

It's nice and if you've got next year on that place in the bag let him walk. If not let the air out of him.
