i hate your luck! haha. that is sweet! keep in mind, the only way most people get to hunt a desert bighorn sheep is to spend a lot of money, put in tags for 30+ years, or both. It is a once in a lifetime hunt.
just something to think about when you're taking a picture with your trophy!

Pick out the wall for all four mounts and apply fresh paint.

Here is the story of the whitetail deer hunt I won with Texas Parks and Wildlife
Sunday Nov 27th I arrived at the gate to the ranch 27 miles outside of Uvalde @ 11:15. After meeting Bobby/owner we drove 2 miles to the house and bunk house. After a long conversation about how the ranch works and a bunch of general BSing we had lunch. Lunch consisted of Bacon wrapped Quail and Shrimp, Venison Sausage, Grilled Chicken Wings, and homemade Ranch Style Beans. It was great! This is coming from a 23 year restaurant veteran! After getting settled in we left the house @ 3:30. We took his safari style jeep through the hilly terrain and saw 9 does on the way in. They were not hanging out to see what we were doing they were on the alert! We got to the blind and saw a total of 14 deer with 4 of them being bucks. Two were young, but were big, and one 3.5 years old with 8 pts and the other 6.5 years old with 10 pts. Still too young. The larger deer got within bow range! It was very windy and the deer were on full alert. Dinner consisted of Turkey Enchiladas with Chips and Guacamole, and Sweet Potato Pie. Once again Great!
Day 2
Got up at 4:45 and met Bobby for Coffee at the bunk house. We talked about what type of deer I would like to take. He talked about a monster that he has seen with 6.5 inch bases and really tall, but not wide antlers. I said that is the one I want to hunt! he was very concerned about the wind being out of the West. It is pretty rare, and none of the blinds were set up to deal with winds out of that direction. I said lets go for it, and we did. We left the bunkhouse @ 5:30. Before reaching our blind we threw corn out from 20 yds to 100 yds. After 20 minutes of being in the blind we started to hear crunching noises. It was everywhere, and loud. It sounded like a school of stripers surfacing on Texoma with no wind. It was crazy! Bobby looked at me and couldnt believe it either. We started to get concerned that all the corn would be gone before sun up. It started getting light and I could see images of deer, but couldnt tell size or gender. There was probably 30 or so in the field with 7 within 30 yds. As the sun came up a little more I could see that 2 deer were clearly bigger than the others and were the closest to me. Bobby pulled up his binos ever so slowly, and then put them down without saying anything. I was too afraid to move. After all it wasnt going to be fault if the deer spooked. A couple minutes later it was clear they both BIG BUCKS!! then Bobby said "thats him in front". He was 22yds in front of me, and broadside! I slowly reached for my Winchester 7mag, but every time I moved an inch I would have to stop. He looked up every time. After what seemed like an hour(probably 2 minutes). I had him in my sights. Problem was the other buck was directly behind him. After another minute or so the second buck moved and BOOOM! The deer ran at us and then took off about 100 yards, stopped and looked our direction and then slowly walked behind a tree. I felt very good about the shot, but Bobby did not and told me to re chamber another one. He then asked "what happened?". I told him I was 100% on the shot, but he had me second guessing myself. Less than a minute later we saw him crash behind the tree. it ends up that the shot was perfect if I were using a bow. It was a heart/lung shot. Note to self hit shoulder with gun. He was a 168.3 class deer!!!
I will post the mule deer hunt soon.

Thanks guys. The deer in the sig line are the two so far. The ranches are private, and don't do paid hunts. Just their own little oasis. It has been an awesome experience so far. All the mounts will be at the cafe when I get them back.

Thank you everyone. I am very lucky. The Big Horn will be in July, at the Sierra Diablo WMA. The pronghorn will be next October. I am ready except for the physical part of the Ram Hunt. I am hitting the gym very regularly!

Do you have a story of the Mule Deer hunt? Also, the whitetail hunt was low fence? with all the deer and size just sounded like a high fence ranch. good luck on the sheep!
