Guy with free range Gemsbok? - 12/28/15 04:32 AM

Several months ago a guy posted some hunts for gemsbok here in Texas. Apparently they crossed through his ranch from time to time. Does anyone remember this, or am I crazy? I believe his place was in far west tx.

Mulie Mike does free-range Gemsbock hunts. I did one a few years ago, but it was in New Mexico very close to El Paso.

I was unaware he outfitted in New Mexico. I'm trying to avoid that $1600 out of state fee if all possible. Thanks for the info!

Got a dandy of a Gemsbock. I have hunted with Mike's company West Texas Hunting Organization 4 times and have never been disappointed. Gemsbock like wide open country. Be prepared for a 400 yard shot.

One of my best friends Ronnie Ellington guides on a 20,000 acre ranch near Dryden in West Texas. He is going there in a week or so to take some hunters. It's a private ranch with no website. Only a few guides take hunters on it. Has lots of exotic species at great prices. I believe my Gemsbok was about 3000.00 dollars. About a year ago. May have gone up a little not sure. Call Ronnie at 936-355-3139 to book a trip. This ranch has some great deals on whitetail and mule deer also with permits for mule deer still going. Has Kudu and lots of other African game. Cool place. Please tell Ronnie Luciano sent you. Ronnie is a great award winning taxidermist also!!! Not free range but on 20,000 acres it seems like free range. Some rough country!! Nice house to stay in.

I hunted this ranch 3 years ago and they do have some nice exotic game animals. The gemsbok is now $3500 and are above average, some very nice trophy addax too. The whitetail and mule deer are average but prices are not bad. It is a huge ranch and the Homeland Security training facility is on the northwest side and can be quite noisy if they are in training! The house is OK, you'll need to bring a bedroll and probably your own food. Otherwise you will need to go to Sanderson for meals; the Walmart in Dryden closes at 8PM! LOL!
