Looking for options

Looking for options - 10/20/15 03:56 AM

First post here so bear with me. Last year I took my father on an exotic hunt after he was diagnosed with cancer. Great hunt and we shot an oryx, black buck and two rams. The agreement with my father was that if he did what the doctors ordered I would take him hunting every year going forward. For my 40th birthday, my wife gave me a letter stating that she was paying for a hunt for me, my dad and my brother to go hunting since we had never been hunting together. Okay so there is the story. The previous guide I hunted with was great but he is just too busy and did not return my calls when promised. Therefore, I would like a couple of recommendations on who to reach out to schedule an exotics/whitetail hunt. Here is a list of what we are considering. My dad said he always wanted to shoot an addax. I would like an axis or nice whitetail. Maybe finish the ram collection (Texas doll and black Hawaiian), open to an elk or bison to fill the freezer. Maybe a couple of does as well. Is there a ranch or outfitter that the board members here can recommend? Looking for nice lodging but more importantly, great customer service. Due to my fathers limitations, a safari style hunt is preferred. Still a great shot but limited mobility. Another question, if multiple animals are purchased, are discounts offered as a general practice? Sorry for rambling on but any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Give Ryan Longer of Longer Outdoors a call. I hunted with him early this year and took a beautiful axis buck. He is able to offer everything you are looking for and MORE! Plus what I liked is he is all inclusive on his price. Only thing not figured in is gratuity. He took care of us from start to finish and treated us like old friends from the moment we met. Plus he offers amazing taxidermy with just a 4 month turnaround. Great guy, you wont regret giving him a call.

Here are a couple that post on here regularly. I haven't hunted with them but they will both have a good variety of options.

There are many wonderful hunting ranches in Texas that very likely can fill your needs but I will recommend one that I've hunted on many different occasions. The Ox ranch near Uvalde, Texas

www.oxhuntingranch.com

Look this website over very closely and you will see they can accomodate what your looking for. This is a beautiful ranch by anyones standards and the multiple lodging options are incredible.

If you decide to call them then give the ranch forman (Tony) a call and tell him Bev Baker recommended them. Good folks and they can put a hunt together that will amaze you. Good Luck with your hunt and to your father wherever you choose go. Elk
