A sow with 3 younguns just showed up. Kinda early for pigs, they'll get a pass for now.

Lots of pork running around. Bringing the AR tomorrow.

There lies the problem

That is quite the hog wire running around that feeder.

Back at it. Heard a couple bucks calling a little bit ago. Just some whitetail does for now though.

The remnants of a feed pen to keep cows out, no more cows here.

Now back to my regularly scheduled axis hunt.

I've heard a cow elk call sometimes calls them in, but when I push the "hoochy mama" call I have, it sounds just like their alarm bark.

Nice shooting, especially with a bolt gun. You must be one fast hombre.

I've used a hoochie mama before and seen axis bucks. Don't know if it was correlated though.

Does that silencer work enough that they don't run off after you shoot the first one? I've only shot one rifle with a silencer and it wasn't all that effective. I still had to wear my ear plugs.

No ear plugs needed with this one. They scatter but don't run. They start running after the second round though.

Hey Tex how big is your place out there? You on the south side of junction? We got a small place out there just east of rocksprings and have been seeing tons of hogs but no axis at all.

We're north of Telegraph. 640 acres. We have lots of axis but they come and go, just have to be here at the right time.

Skipped the eveing hunt yesterday to take the wife out for mexican food in Rocksprings. Back again. I hear him, just can't see him.
