Hunt Report - Fallow & Four Horn

Hunt Report - Fallow & Four Horn - 02/15/15 05:40 AM

I spent the last few days hunting near Mountain Home with Rusty Kimbrell (aka "therancher") at his ranch. I had originally planned on hunting Sika, but after 2 1/2 days of chasing them around without any success....I switched over to Fallow and took this great old buck on the last afternoon! Also got a big ol' stinky Four Horn as well.

Rusty was a pleasure to be around, and I will definitely be back!

Here are a few pics for you guys....

And last, but certainly not least....a celebratory smoke and scotch

Wade first off nice fallow buck and a wonderful old jacob's sheep. I personally think this is one of the most wonderful jacob skulls I have ever seen.

What do you plan on doing with him? If I were you I'd bleach the skull and mount it as is. I think the chick's name is Jenna Weller, she does a painted, rocked, art-decko type skull treatment. I'd probably go with that. My dad did a huge rambo ram of ours that died like 30 years ago like that and to this day he still looks amazing. Used aggots, fossils, and some turqoise. A jacob sheep would look good that way.

And I wouldn't be doing my duty if I didn't give you a bit of hell, so how is that you have lost weight but your face is getting fatter? Last time I saw you in a photo on AR you were the other way around. Fatter but your face was skinny. At least I maintain fat/fat where applicable.

I need to call you we should be hearing about moving back to Texas in a couple weeks.

cheers,

Big Wonderful Wyoming/Roo Basher

Roo,

I'm getting Euro mounts with mesquite plaques done on both animals.

And I don't know what to tell you about my fat face...lol. I haven't lost any weight. I've been around 185-190 for at least 5 years. The only thing that really fluctuates on me is the amount of facial hair I have...haha.

Those 4horns were the result of the YO strategy of plying you with "free" alcohol and then bringing out the fugly stuff. The 4 horns are always last. Works pretty good on me...

Some people have obese faces, I am sure you claim it for a disability.

Honestly though I am just messing with you. Must be the beard and camera angle. You always seem to be a skinny guy.

Good looking photography too, what camera and lens are you using, and are you using a filter?

Camera is a Nikon D5100 with Nikkor 18-55mm lens....no filter, just a few adjustments in Adobe Lightroom for exposure/contrast.

Big Iron is a great place to hunt and Rusty, well he's one of the best people to hunt with. Glad you had a nice hunt and enjoyed the spectacular view off the back porch.

No payment received...is he offering any? I am willing to go a bit farther on my praise for the right price.

Actually I don't think they even make the D5100 anymore. I believe they make a D5200 and D5300 now....which are basically the same camera with slightly upgraded features.
