Management hunts - 10/19/14 09:52 PM

I will have some management hunts available in January - February 2015.
Pending my meeting with the wildlife biologist it may include some whitetails but for now I am planning on taking out no more than 10 scimitar oryx.
I will not be hunting the mature males 34"+ but I will be removing some of the females and and younger males.
Prices start at $900 for oryx below 30" and up to $2000 for mature cows. Some of my females will reach 40".
This is a management hunt with guides decision on which ones we are to take.
Bow or rifle.
$500 deposit to book the hunt. Remainder due upon kill.
Lodging 2 nights included.
Cape/quarter of game included.

I also have blackbuck doe hunts available. If there are any red deer left at that time, I will be able to sell one of those. At this time I have hunters coming between now and and the end of the year that will be trying to get them taken out first and I dont have any available bookings until January.

Feel free to call me for more information. 830-263-1139

Thank you!
Curtis

BG I was on a hunt earlier for Black Buck. Curtis had me in a spacious ground blind. Had several Oryx in the 25-30 yard range. Dunno if they are always in the same area but these were certainly in the kill zone.

Thank you. I will get more pics this weekend and post what i will have.

Bow range is not a problem. With oryx it's more of a problem of getting a clear shot. They herd up and move tight. Sometimes we have to set up on a place where they will come through in a line on a trail before going to open pasture.

Other than the obvious what's the biggest difference between a bull and a cow? Will the bull just be larger with a larger head?

Re: Management hunts - 11/22/14 01:42 PM

The bulls have a little more mass to their horns where the cows horns may be longer but are normally smaller in diameter. Baker

That is correct except that the females horns will usually grow longer than the males. They seem to grow length faster than the males do. We have had several females go over 42" and I have some that are easily that large right now.
