,hunt offers questions - 12/24/11 11:30 PM

All, when i look at a lot of hunt adds here on this forum I see its quite common for a lot of hunts to include lodeging of some type but then there are NO meals included. My question is, WHY? is it like that. Now I know a lot of exotic hunts are advertise dfor only one day and for local texas hunters thats probably no big issue, BUT for a guy like me who would be coming from out of state, more likely on a plane, thats hard to deal wit/plan for since in a lot, but not all cases I might have to depend on an airport pickup/drop off. Sure I know there are stores around to get grub, but why not included it with the hunt or the daily rate or whatever?
Second question is how hard is it to get meat shipping arranged from a hunt for an exotic? Again as a out of state guy I would need hard info that an outfitter has/has done this for a hunter. I know that would cost extra fees, and I'm okay with that, but its the arranging part one would need to know about before hand.

I had a couple in from Florida a couple of weeks ago and they took 5 animals. The processor we use shipped the meat to them. I can provide their contact information if you need a reference.

i would bet that if you contacted the outfitters, they could arrange the meals to be provided.

we use to provide meals with our hunts and stopped recently mainly because of health issues these days. It seems like everyone is a diabetic or can't eat certain things so it has worked out much better for us for our clients to get their own groceries. Now I have and will always be happy to pick those items up for them at no extra charge if need be along with dropping meat and capes/heads off to a local taxidermist again at no charge. Some folks just operate differently is all. There's no right or wrong way in doing so as long as the client is happy.

I am who HiBanks is talking about. We came in from Florida (but I am a Texan! Job requirements....) My wife and I had a great time and we will be hunting with him again in the future. I have been on a lot of guided hunts in the US and abroad. This was the most stress free, honest, guided hunt I have ever been on.

PM me if you need any more information.

Wishing everyone a Safe, Healthy and Prosperous 2012!

HiBanks,

As I'm still learning on this site, habven't figured out the PM business yet, could you send me a PM with some additional details on how you helped the Florida couple get their meat shipped home. If you can give me the name of the processor (& phone number) and I'll call them myself and ask detailed questions. Thanks.

To send a pm, click on the persons name on the left. A drop down option will come down, and the second one is "send a PM". When you receive a PM there will be a flashing red envelope in the center of the olive drab bar at top of the page. Click on it. Also, under "my Stuff" up there, you can view your messages. Good luck.
