Question needs better clarification of season and county. It is Not legal in some E TX counties (they only have spring season)

From TPWD under Means and Methods:

Baiting

Baiting for game animals, nongame animals, and game birds is lawful on private property, except for turkey in certain East Texas counties and migratory game birds statewide. See county listings.

They are steeling YOUR corn! They should be dealt with appropriately!

LOL, its funny how different some of us feel about turkeys. I love to hunt em and would be happy to have that many but like yall say they do clean up the corn.

Same in Red River County, no hunting over bait and can be taken bow or shotgun, no rifle.

ummm probably because all those non rifle county's turkey populations are Eastern's and TPW is trying to protect them, unlike the more common Rio Grande's, west of about I-35.

Preston Peninsula at Lake Texoma, in Grayson County is all Easterns too, and are highly protected plantings by TPW.

We are in Coryell also and have a crap ton of them most of the time. One morning I had 2 flocks come off the roost on different ends of my hunting area. Feeder went off and they were waiting for it. I had 57 birds at one time. Friggin turkeys everywhere.
