Are they needed? I'm going on my first Turkey Hunt in Talpa this weekend and curious if I should spend the $20 and get one. I'm going to a family ranch where Turkeys are NEVER hunted and according to the land owner they are very abundant. Should I be ok in just camo or spend the money for a turkey blind?

If you plan on using decoys and have some good cover you don't really need one. Without decoys it can be tough to get in position if you don't have cover.

But on the flip side, they can't hurt! I love bow hunting from a pop up blind. I don't think I could draw on one without making too much movement and getting busted. And they don't notice them at all for some reason.

Also, it sounds like you'll have a group of them come in. You can pick and choose when to make a move with a bird or two, but a group is a lot of eyes.

Pop ups are really good. Some of them set up in a matter of seconds.
They conceal your movement well and birds don't seem to mind them at all.

Good luck on your hunt, all our guests have done well this year in Talpa

We use ground blinds at all our locations, and have done well with them.
