Turkey Hunting on Public Land

What is the closes area of public land to DFW that would offer opportunity for spring turkey hunting?

LBJ Grasslands in Decatur, TX...

You may have more luck at lake Whitney Corp land.

Know of any place closer to the San Antonio area??

Have you personally hunted this area before? I am new to public land and wanting to make the best decision.
