...when you harvest a fine trophy bird, please, do not run out there hoopin' and a hollerin' like we see many of the TV idiots do, putting every bird within 300 yds. in panic mode. Just sit still and let the birds leave naturally. Your trophy will still be there after they leave. If birds stay around, just talk in a natural voice...they will leave a bit spooked, but not on full alarm. Collect your bird(s) and equipment quietly and leave the area. You can celebrate to your hearts content once you're back at the cabins.

Turkeys are a creature of habit and like their solitude. If you interrupt them enough, they can pushed to change their habits, or even leave the area.

i thought you were supposed to jump up and fist pump and yell " i smoked him". that said, i saw Cuz Strickland take off after a bird a guy shot and didn't see a low limb, the first thing that hit the ground was his a$$.
