Caught on the crapper ! - 03/29/16 01:58 PM
Went up to the southern Adirondacks to help a friend post his property and do a little scouting for spots to spend the last weekend of coyote season in NY.
The rolling hills and thick woods on his land isn't the best terrain for coyote hunting, but that's what I had to deal with.
Later that evening while the rest of the party was boozing it up, I went out and hit three spots.
On the last set I saw one about 250 yards away with the thermal, but it didn't come in range for a shot.
So back to camp I went and had a couple of beers and a shot of jack before hitting the hay.
I get up Sunday morning early to listen/watch the wood ducks + geese on the wetlands and to visit the crapper.
I'm sitting on the crapper and the red squirrels start going crazy.
A few seconds later, this freakin coyote comes strolling by not 20 yards away, looks at me and casually walks away.
It's not how I wanted to end the season, but It's an ending I won't ever forget.
