Second Most awesome Hunt ever

Second Most awesome Hunt ever - 08/24/15 12:17 PM

I'm at Helgram Pines again... This time I wanted to experience stalking hogs. Now those of you who do this on a narrow trail in the pitch dark I applaud you. This type of hunting is not for city slickers like me I need to get back into shape. Brian the guide is awesome and he put me on the pigs however I was so out of breath from the thousands of deliberate steps on the mile track that I whiffed the shot. well enough of the small talk.

Some folks claim trees jump out in front of their car, but this proves they jump in front of bullets... grin

Prolly should have used a VMax (see other thread)... rofl

No, no, no, the problem was that he wasn't shooting a bolt gun. Bolt guns are more accurate and result in more ethical shots (on hogs or trees, I guess) (see other thread).

I bet the tree didn't leave a blood trail either.

I believe shot placement on that tree was good and it was an ethical kill. I sent the guide a message if he cuts out that part of the tree and ships it to me I will send him $50. I will get it mounted and hang it in my den.

Filling out the tag now - Do I put that down as native Oak or is it considered an Exotic?

Oh yeah, you definitely 'nailed' that shot . . .

Only thing to do is — go back and get 'em the next time!

Your luck might be as bad as mine. But don't give up, it'll be worth it when you get him.
