Got lucky

Eased twards ground blind little before 8:00pm... Hogs already at corn 25yrds from blind... Eased alittle closer.. At 7:59 the sound of me .223 sending a cheap 55gr hp down range broke the silence... Hog droped were it stood, the other escaped threw the tall weeds inta the edge of tree line... en & chillen... Ohh, never try using a butter knife ta skin a hog, it doesnt work... Good thing had me spair... Have ta post pic later... Cant do it with me android..

My knives all feel like butter knives after skinning one hog. Got me a new knife middle last deer season, haven't had a chance to try it on some pig though

Cool weather setting in cam was showing hogs moving last part of day light, did get pic or two of these hogs the morning pulled SD card.. So put out more corn again... They were busy with the corn & didnt notice me... Was a 25yrds shot, so nothen ta brag about.. The .223 55gr hp found the spot, hog didnt know what hit it... Ya'll have a good one... Stay safe...

Havent been back out, back is still spassen... Most my hog hunten is on WMA... Need the excersise... Used ta archery hunt untill shoulder went oit... Got several videos of hogs from down thar, as said many a times finding the hogs was the easy part... 98% time huntsolo ... So taken more videos than pulled trigger... Have given invites, but, at times its ankle deep water, hitting thick out of way areas... 24-7-365 hunting pressure from surounding privite land makes great hog hunts on WMA were they have limits... tis usdta being laughed at & made fun of... Was haven bad day from back packing small hog out few years back whin friend said lets go get a hog... he didnt have ta ask twice... Hesitated on a 300+# hog that day, he still teases me bout not pulling trigger, we was out thar for some en & chillen... We've taken several hogs thar tagether, worked as a team, that day just wasnt up ta pullen me own weight, let alone, helpen back pack a big hog... He was cool about it... He hunts lease, get invite from time ta time.... Got cool weather right now... Edit: checked the public hunting part of form were had posted videos of OSBWMA they updated it, went from 3 pages ta 2 so they not thar no more...

Hey colt 45 if it makes you feel better, I spent 2 hours at a taco restaurant tryin to upload a video I made of a hog hunt. The service in town is better than the service out in the country I guess, but man it was like I was loading a 3 hour movie. sheww. Ive also been using cheap metal cased FMJs and the long distance body shots will deliver some runners if I don't hit spine, high shoulder, or the head. I may back a couple of FMJs up next time with some soft points. Just hate to shoot my better ammo at hogs.

been trying ta video a hog hunt with scope over laser under... On the 3rd had hogs 25yrds from blind, turnef on cheap cannon camera, still had good day light, but video cam was pretty dark, any ways laser was bouncing off tall weeds... So cleaned small shooting lane, let things cool down... This time was bout 10ft from blind & hogs were already at corn... Moved a little closer, twas gonna try video, then words of a friend popped inta me head, put down camera & choot-em ... So took pic & video afterwards... Posted pic's of the hogs in photo form, took out the darker hog, both are boars...

I had a huntin buddy that never carried bi nocks. He said heck by the time I get done looking at the buck with the specs the damn deer is gone. Its true, why not just look at him with the scope and then pull the trigger. All those extras can confuse a red neck. HaHa

archery used my three pins ta judge distance.. 3D target, 10, 20, 30 yrds paying atention ta top & bottom of pins in relation ship ta body of target... Not best at explaining... 30yrds, top pin on back bottom pin on belly 10yrds top pin on back & the bottom pin would be half belly. Like on milldot scopes or plain cross hairs were lines get thin before they meet... Never did long range shooting while hunting, farthest shot on deer less than 100yrds with rifle.. Did do long range plinking... Some high-tech stuff is nice, went from stalking with pistal in dark ta laser.. Would be nice ta have NV or Thermal... Not enough hogs here ta pay, & WMA were gotmost hogs, no night hunts, ythat could get hazordas on public land & ihold my own on day hunts... Every one on here has their own prefferances... Tis sure most think i'm thats cool... i use gps just ta find my stand 40yrds from house in middle of wide open pasture...

Last few days weather has cooled off... These two hogs were mo ving last hour or so of daylight ta plain old corn... Did get few pics of them early that morning, but no corn was thrown... Android is not up ta spead, not able ta post pic... gotta admit, but the chops last night were good... Any one noticing daylight movement ? Theirs a thread bout hogs moving before cool fronts... They did here...

No sign of hog's, few pic's of deer at mineral block, squirrel hitting the corn... Their rain we had earlier has brought plenty bows for deer & acorns on tree were have corn feeder doing good... Be awhile before see some hogs again, yet never know... Noticed several have been seeing hogs lately cooler wether will get em up & about....

Just went pulled SD card & swich batteries at cam by tree line... Hogs wete showing up their first on cam's... Have home made lader stand just inside trees covering feeders inbetween the two cams & one by creek & food plot.. Chose the blind cause even though stand is bout 8ft or little more high, the weeds block a shot twards feeder between cams& hogs sometime come from ta cams left... Went checked were hogs & derr cross creek, foud old hog droppings.. They had been walking under tree stand... The corn thrown by hand were got hog is barly touched... Yet is fresh track by creek.. Hmmmm... Need ta sharpen knives... Might give few more dayssee if hog will come ta corn pile... Thinking it might be the other boar...

Good deal man, sounds like your having to pattern your hogs. That's better than looking for hogs that arent there.

me huntsolo down at OSBWMA learn lots of tricks...son got big enough we had great times.. Daughter & wife been... Setting up off the ATV trails were lots of fresh hog sign & scrapes, rubs from deer & hogs during archery & paying attention ta movement helps... Hog general didnt have ta worry bout messing up deer hunters gave freedom ta wonder about the woods hitting places were didnt see other hunters... Hogs were alway easy ta find... Most stayed close or walked ATV ytails untill found hog sign, years back didnt have ta go to far.. Most done at night.. Some guys hunt with had real good luck with hunting fairly close... Last couple years we didnt see any thing... Little bit rain we had weeds grown again.. Knocked few down.. Warm weather getting eaten by mosketoes, waiting for hogs that aren't around, & if they be, they gonna move at night in cooler weather, i'm not that desprete... Gone threw thick stuff back in day after wounded hog, just ta push em out, one time even at night with dim flashlight... Twas lucky that night. Left TP were stopped, next day went checked found big blood clot almost size of basketball less than 15 feet.. Fairly fresh blood was dry on out side yet little moist... Heard some one at other end yeal found blood.. Took bout 3-4 minnutes ta get out of thick stuff... Tailed for hours, it lead to muddy creek bed solid with hog tracks... Do enjoy me hog hunts... Nother cool morning little fog.. Had thunderstorm yesterday... Squirrel & crows hitting corn, thought got pic of the bobcat, looked closer coons out playing... Things slowed back down again.. Cool ta see others getting few hogs, Certain areas hold more hogs than others.. Its like deer hunting, for years 1buck county, few years back 4deer... Best wishes,
