My daughter shot a boar Friday just before dark. She was using her 270/Ziess with 130g Barnes X bullets. The group of hogs approached the feeder at a dead run around 9pm. Jen said it looked like a dust storm at the feeder. The boar would come in then slip back every few seconds. She finally had a clear shot and the boar was DRT.
We've been seeing this large spotted boar for the last 4 weeks on cam. My guests at the lease saw him the previous 2 weekends but the boar doesn't stay put long enough to take a shot. Well, he stayed in the open Friday long enough to become BBQ. Back straps and hams on ice:)
I added a picture of him from earlier in the week. He's the largest boar in the center of the pic.
Boar was 250 lbs on the scale.
BTW, we're tracking two other boars that are bigger
