Now that bears have moved into texas, wondering who all if anybody has seen them. We have seen a young one in cass county but i have no idea about texas regulations on bears?
So who has seen one in texas? Where? And what was your experience

Texas regulations on bears is if you see one you can not shoot it. They are endangered in Texas so you are not allowed to harm them.

There were always reported sightings around East Texas but few confirmations as I recall..

there are more than a few down by big bend...believe it or not.
The ones at Big Bend are illegal immigrants, LOL. They actually were documented coming up from Mexico, according to part rangers there many years ago.

You'll find some may migrate down this side of the Red River from Oklahoma in the winter. Found tracks and had a reported sighting at Old Sabine WMA some years back. They are protected.

I saw a mama black bear and a cub in Big Bend a couple of years ago. I reported it at the ranger station and they gave me a signed certificate that I still have.
