How do you spell raccoon?

I'm semi-OCD so anyway I am making a video at the moment of s couple coons who caught some lead over the weekend - it's s word that never looks right when I spell it.

I checked the forum sub-heading here on THF and it is spelled Racoon.

Google says Raccoon....

We just call them 'Coons' or 'Corn Bandits' here.

No one calls them "Raccoons". Same with a 'possum', not an 'Opossum'.

Of the two...possums 'eat better'.

I need to post up a video, I shot one with my air rifle with the x-sight, sitting on top of my solar panel looking at me. they've stopped climbing it for now after I shot 4 of them
