Hogs Down

Hogs Down - 04/11/15 04:27 PM

A Boar and Sow shortly around 0015 today. Taken with Ruger AR10 (308) and X-Sight 5-18X. About 100 yards.

Arrived at my lease around 10:00pm. Prepared the trailer and at my box stand at 10:45pm. A hog shows up 15 minutes after my feeder goes off at 11:00PM. I'm taking video, pictures, and generally checking amplification on the scope and UNV20. The hog gets spooked and runs off. Now I feel like a D@mn fool cause I let one get away. cry

A few minutes after midnight, a sow shows up. I turn on the video and line up my cross hairs. Suddenly a large Boar shows up. A few seconds later the Boar is DRT. I decided to wait on his girlfriend to return. Sure enough, his biatch returns after a few minutes to check her stud out and she joins him in paradise. I estimate the Boar at 200 lbs min based on the last hog I shot that weighted 185.

The boar had been around the block. He had battle scars on both sides of his body. His front teeth had been grind down to the gums.

Nice. The sow looks like she was expecting. Good job of reducing the hog population. Keep at 'em!

Re: Hogs Down - 04/12/15 10:27 PM

My daughter wanted me to see how many piglets she was carrying but I was just exhausted. Previous sow I shot was carrying 6.

We have a very large number of young pigs on both my leases. Maybe 30+ at each lease.

I haven't seen it yet! Got home and after putting my gear away I had to get the grill going for the family. I'll post it tomorrow.

Is it my imagination or has the X-sight power on/off BP become very sensitive after .248?

which player are you trying to use?

Re: Hogs Down - 04/15/15 05:11 PM

you can also open windows movie maker and drag and drop in there and be able to view and edit it

make sure your codecs are up to date

if using windows media player, try this:

a. Open Sound by clicking the Start button and then clicking Control Panel.

b. In the search box, type sound and then click Sound.

c. On the Playback tab, click Speakers and then click Properties.

d. Click the Enhancements tab and then select the Disable all enhancements check box.

Re: Hogs Down - 04/16/15 04:10 AM

Sorry I wasn't clear where I needed the assistance. I used Windows Live Movie Maker to clean up the X-Sight videos. However, I'm unable to import these video's from my laptop to the forum post. I can do pictures fine.

Help!

Re: Hogs Down - 04/19/15 02:06 AM

I figured out how to post the video. Forgive my rookie mistakes and music selection. I used the default Windows Live Movie music and it's terrible!
