Hogs Down - 04/11/15 04:27 PM
A Boar and Sow shortly around 0015 today. Taken with Ruger AR10 (308) and X-Sight 5-18X. About 100 yards.
Arrived at my lease around 10:00pm. Prepared the trailer and at my box stand at 10:45pm. A hog shows up 15 minutes after my feeder goes off at 11:00PM. I'm taking video, pictures, and generally checking amplification on the scope and UNV20. The hog gets spooked and runs off. Now I feel like a D@mn fool cause I let one get away.
A few minutes after midnight, a sow shows up. I turn on the video and line up my cross hairs. Suddenly a large Boar shows up. A few seconds later the Boar is DRT. I decided to wait on his girlfriend to return. Sure enough, his biatch returns after a few minutes to check her stud out and she joins him in paradise. I estimate the Boar at 200 lbs min based on the last hog I shot that weighted 185.
The boar had been around the block. He had battle scars on both sides of his body. His front teeth had been grind down to the gums.
